The Interview Meme

(originated on LJ, but whatever, let's cross borders!)

The Rules of the Game:

Want to be interviewed yourself? Ask here.

1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 - You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 - You'll include this explanation.
5 - You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

I'll follow the lead of others and take the first five (if there are that many) who want to be interviewed.

Money, money, money

Today's Friday Five:

You have just won one million dollars: (YAY!!)

1. Who do you call first?

My mom.

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?

Amazon.com. Now, seriously, I buy myself a world tour. ;)

3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?

A trip for Maru. :)

4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?

I can't grasp the essence of this question.

5. Do you invest any? If so, how?

Hmm. I don't know. I guess I'd save some in the bank and live off the interests? I'm bad at that stuff. ::shrug::

I'm so happy. What's sucky is that I couldn't watch the announcement per se because I was at work, and even then I couldn't watch the thing online bacause I was in a meeting (my yearly evaluation, no less!). When I get out of that, I try and get online to see what happened, and turns out our connection is down! Despair. Thankfully Maru saved my life by sending me links to my work address, heh.

Also, Johnny Depp is nominated as Best Actor. It doesn't get much better than this, people.

I also went to a business lunch with the boss and one of out Hotel contacts. It was so good. Beef carpaccio and eggplant lasagna. Of course, I had to blow it all off by eating a bi-colored chocolate mousee. The doctor will grill my ass on Saturday, I know. But hey, it was really nice food I didn't have to pay, so what's not to love, eh?

Of course, I had to come back at the office to find out the corporate network seems to ahve been infected with the Mydoom Virus. Stupid users should know better than to open unknown files and fuck the rest of us!! Thankfully the server at Connecticut hasn't let my address send stuff to anyone -- it has blocked every attempt of outgoing spammy virus. Meh.

Rock star hair

Let me show you a picture of Bono from yesterday's American Film Institute awards luncheon:

Okay, now I wonder:

1) WTF happened to his hair? It's red and yellow and weird.
2) At first I though, "Damn, Ali is indeed getting better with age!" until I found out that was Andrea Corr, and not his wife.
3) WTF happened to his hair?

No wonder the new album is getting so long -- they must be working out extreme ways to rebuild the Bono Hair.

So, Happy Chinese New Year!

What does one do to celebrate this holiday? Eat spring rolls or something? I want to know.

Anyway, things at the office are quieter now after yesterday's shockah. You know how these things are. The show must go on and all that shit. Moving on.

I found out that the staff of The Leaky Cauldron visites the Prisoner of Azkaban set. Good stuff. An excerpt:

The Leaky Cauldron: Last year I asked you guys to predict what would happen to your characters. Now that you read the fifth book, can you update me?
Daniel Radcliffe: Oh - I'm sticking with mine. Mmhm.
Emma Watson: What was the prediction?
Daniel Radcliffe: Oh you two are definitely, you're madly in love. Over to you two!

[Laughter. A blushing Emma and Rupert (Grint) seem to be slightly flustered, so someone asks a new question.]

Teh cute. :p

Oh yes! I made a Music Nerd Test that Maru sent me, and I'm proud of my results: 70.28986% - Extreme Music Nerd. As if the world needed more proof of my geekiness. Still, respect. ;)

Last but not least, I've also learned that you can't call yourself a fangirl until you've played Orlando Bloom Mahjongg. I guess I'm not surprised someone took the time to do that, but I am worried about the fact that I don't find that disturbing. God help us all.

Meanwhile, I'll go and wank to these. You have a nice day.

Yesterday I finally got my TTT:EE, so I obviously went to bed at 3am watching the movie again. Good God, the eyegasms! I'm surprised they had the strength to delete all that goodness from the theatrical version. That must have been painful, yo. There were some awesome moments in there. We got angsty Merry/Pippin, but we also got cuddly cute Merry/Pippin. ;) I also enjoyed the extra Éowyn scenes, I must admit. Especially the Théodred funeral and another one in Helm's Deep where she talks to Aragorn. Miranda Otto paints those simple scenes with such despair and heart it gets under your skin. However, I have three favorites: the extended scene with Sam, Frodo and Gollum on the Dead Marshes, the new one at the beginning with Sam and Frodo and the salt from The Shire, and definitely the Faramir/Boromir flashback. That one takes the cake. That one sequence fucked me up in a very bad way. I knew it was good, but not THAT good. Unsurprisingly, I cried at that.

A random observation: falling asleep to the movie commentary featuring Dom and Billy will produce erotic hobbit dreams. Not that that's a bad thing, but I digress. ;)

Oh, yes. I also got the last (I think) of my belated Xmas gifts. This one was from Lee, who must be the man with the most exquisiste taste in gifts I know. He sent me four Xmas ornaments, four little silver colored boxes, each one containing metallic stars and a variety of random holiday motives, made of silver or metal, I couldn't tell. One had an angel, ther had metal cuouts of reindeers, other one cute signs like "Believe" or "I can explain, Santa!" and the other one had a little Snata Claus. My mother was smitten with those, let me tell you. "I can't believe he sent you four. One would have been enough!" But yes, quite the gorgeous gift.

::bounce::

This week is going nice so far. I slept one more hour this morning and actually went to the office when it wasn't still night for once, and got to enjoy a ride with the sun in my face and fresh, clean, cool breeze in my face. Then came a traffic jam, but let's forget that. Went and had some yummy lunch and paid for my credit cards, but let's forget about that. Mom called to tell me I have a package from Lee waiting for me, which, of course, rocks so even more because yesterday I got a wonderful Xmas gift from Ned (this book) that got me all happy and fangirly beyond measure.

So, I'm almost out of here, on my way to get my TTT:EE and then home to watch it. Not that I have a choice after looking at the pretty are in Japan and their good dose of Domlijah. Rawr.

Much yayness.

Good things about the last couple days:

1) I saw the latest Robbie Williams show, courtesy of Maru. I geeked out on that -- must have seen it like, 4 times. It was so full of energy and good vibe... not to mention Rob was FANTASTIC through the whole show. The bastard had me in tears during "Feel." Guh. Anyway, as usual, Rob gives the audience precious moments: at one point, during "Come Undone" he takes a girl onstage, who at first is all sweet, but then goes straight to his ass, giving it a mighty squeeze. He, being the man we know and love, responded by squeezing one of the girl's breasts. She, of course, dived in and got a REALLY GOOD kiss out of him. Bitch. ;) Must get this one on DVD.

2) I won something!! A girl from HBO sent me an e-mail telling me I was one of 80 Latinamerican winners of the new Coldplay live DVD/CD. I swear I jumped up and down the office squealing. Most embarrassing, but OH JOY! I never win anything at these things, so it was exciting. Plus, it's Coldplay. And a new DVD. You tell me how is that a bad thing.

3) I had such a good dream this morning. One I didn't know I was having until the alarm clock started this morning at 4:40 (one hour before the time I really have to wake up, only for the pleasure of hitting the snooze button five times because I have more time to sleep). Anyway. I move towards the clock to shut up Kylie Minogue, and I SWEAR I felt Dom pulling me back to the bed, saying "Hmmm... come back. Not yet" or something to that effect in a husky, sleepy voice. I mean, if Dom wants to keep on cuddling me, who am I to deny him? Don't ask me how I knew it was him. It just was him. And believe me, he felt quite good curled up behind me, all warm and toasty. Hmmmm. I wanna have multimedia dreams like that one every day.

4) Continuing with my hobbit fetish, I'm glad to announce the boys are up in my office wall now, looking all cute, yet sexee. Most pleased with myself, because I can look at them when my boss is being a bitch and feel a pleasure pang in my tummy.

5) Not only I found a neverending source for geeky LiveJournal icon images -- I also found a great source of endless geeky and funny in-jokes, like "Let's play hot palantir!"

6) I'm picking up my The Two Towers Extended Edition DVD tomorrow. Fear the fangirl.

*hic*

Worship me, for I have the power to convert common people into Tolkienistas! Today I brought my family (mom, dad and grandma) to the movies to see RoTK (is there any other movie playing now? I have NO idea). They LOVED it. My mom even cried! That was kinda shocking, but adorable nonetheless. My grandma was all "but hey, I read that in the books, you know." My dad doing his cool "that was quite good" bit. Hee! I felt so accomplished, I went to this bookstore with wacky January discounts, and got The Art of The Two Towers and The Book of Lost Tales. Go me!

Afterwards, there was yummy Italian dinner with the family and stepfamily, lots of hilarious anecdotes, good food and ridiculous amounts of wine, the main reason why I'm all tipsy and happy at the moment.

A really, really good day.

Of sandwiches enjoyed -- or not

You know what? I've tried to be productive. And I've been -- mostly.

It seems that today's one of those days when you feel all stretched out in all directions and you really can't accomplish much? Well. That's me. Which is kind of annoying, since I haven't been able to enjoy the fact my boss has been out all day. And if that's not a very sad thing, then I don't know what is. I've really had no free time at all -- no AIM, no phone, no slash -- except a few minutes to post some stuff in the porn place. Meh. At least I maneged to get delivered all my corporate Xmas gifts, which were very appreciated. Believe me, a gorgeous calendar will get you many friends. ;)

Now the boss is here again, it's 6pm already, and I wanna be miserable and angsty over my lost, yet well invested time. I woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday (probably because the dream I was having was just too good), and I was a bit sad to get to the office. But at this point, I can't really say that it's all loss -- it's just been another day to fill memories with tomorrow. I must enjoy my sandwich (tm Viggo).

I hope you enjoyed your sandwich, too.

Hoo! The dream I had last night! YUMMM. ;)

Okay, at new office, most of my stuff already on its proper place, am overtly stressed, but Boss came back from his vacations positively cheery so today may not be such a bad Monday after all. I'm seriously thinking about getting myself a cork thing to put my favorite photos in. I need to look at my friends and people that make me happy on a regular basis, so maybe that's not such a bad idea after all.

That reminds me -- I need to rethink my office wall pinups. Hmm. How much hobbity homoeroticism can my boss handle, considering my pinup wall is right in front of him? The mind wanders.

And talking about hobbity goodness, I curse myself for forgetting about the Critics Choice Awards on Saturday. I could have watched the pretty Billeh live. Bad, bad Miggie. Sigh.

Sixth Day Goodness

After last night's loss of brain cells due to arousing pictures of the male cast of LoTR kissing each other, I spent today almost on its entirety with my friend Fabi, with whom I went to see RoTK with. It was lovely -- a 1pm showing on a humongous theater with only 4 people there. Big, comfy chair, popcorn... sigh. Perfection. Plus, the movie keeps on getting even better every time. Fabi did her girlfriend bit handing me tissues everytime I cried, but near the end, she just said: "See, you're screwed now, because all I have left is a condom, honey." ;)

After that, we went for a walk on the mall and I acquired the RoTK visual companion for a fantastic price. At that point, we decided we needed a a coffee to discuss the movie, and we ended up on this Vietnamese restaurant, called Shangri-La. No coffee: Cosmopolitans for us. Those were gooood. To top the night off, a Molten Lava Cake on Chili's (diet? What diet?).

We also talked a lot about friends, relationships and all those complicated things of adult life, and how when we were little we never thought it'dbe this messy. Then, in order not to get down, the conversation shifted to better topics: sex. I tell you, it was a Sex & The City episode, only longer. We promised ourselves to get more in touch with our pervert selves by making good use of her digital camera and our bodies, and by hitting an ambient bar sometime soon and see what all the fuss is about. Plus, there's a chance someone tried to hit on us. Heee.

Now, some rest. Casablanca waits for me on DVD. :)

Seeking professional help now.

You thought there wouldn't be a horny post today, huh? You're sadly mistaken.

It's amazing the quality of the porn you can find on the internet. All my fangirl moves of the week have taught me that. A sample:

Billy: Imagine I'm a girl. I'm at a bar.
Dom: (Turns to Billy) 'ow ar' ye?
Billy: Yeah, I'm good.
Dom: So, you wanna... you wanna kiss me deeply?
Billy: (Turning at Dom) Where?
Dom: Little 'round mouth.
Billy: Yeah, I'll have a go at that.
Dom: (Turning at the interviewer) See?
Billy: It works! I would never have thought I would've done that.

First off, Happy Birthday, Chris!

Guess what? I'm switching offices. Again. It causes me a ridiculos amount of stress having to move my stuff around, because I have A LOT of it. I had to free my cd "rack" at the office, and turns out I have two HUMONGOUS boxes of cds in here. I hope the office building never caughts fire, yo. However, the worst part of this whole deal is that now I'll be sitting beside my boss, and feeling the scrutinizing eyes on my back. That means less procrastination and AIM, unless I find a way to hide it all on the screen.

Oh well. In other news, I found a dvd merchant that has a kickass variety of movies and concerts at fantastic prices, so I'm getting Depeche Mode: The Videos 89>98 and David Bovie: Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. Wheee! When will I have time to see this, I have no idea. But they'll be mine, my love.

Apart from the stress of the moving and the capitalist excitement over material goods, I'm also feeling kinda nostalgic, you know. I guess I'm in my "I wanna boyfriend" stage of the year or something, because I'm all touchy-feely and pouty and looking for a cuddle. I think I need some hugging and somebody to pet my head and caress my hair. Yeah, my heart is not that balck and hairy after all. Fuck off.

Sigh.

3:39 PM | + |

Sigh.

I'm back at the office. It was dreadful to wake up again at 5:30am, especially because at this time of the year it's still pitch black outside at 6:30am. Makes me wonder why don't we do the daylight savings thing in here. People are mostly calm. Not too cheery, not too sad to be back, which is good, considering I can't handle extreme reactions today. I need time to get used to the air conditioning again. ;)

The weekend transcurred quietly and lazily, considering what other people did. I burned my brain with TV and I also decided that three times is not enough and went and saw RoTK yet again, but this time on a pirated DVD copy. Man, awful translation with the subtitles! They never got any character or location name right, and at some points, they just wrote down what they thought the characters were saying. Thank God I understand English, otherwise I would have been very confused. And pissed off. But anyway, said subtitles didn't take away from my enjoyment of the movie, if you call crying my eyeballs out enjoyment. I swear, that movie fucks me up big time. I just can't seem to get a hold of myself watching that movie. I fangirl myself out, for real.

My grandmother appeared at my door around 7pm to demand The Two Towers on DVD. I felt bad telling her we had to make a raincheck for tonight, because I was watching Operación Triunfo and American Idol. (Yes, I know. Awful. But I wanted to see Simon Cowell making the contestants cry. Plus, I also wanna see when they kick Josh out. I HATE him with a passion that borders on the psychotic.) Also, I had to watch Queer Eye, which, by the way, was great. I was geeking out on Jai's sheer hotness. He reminded me a lot of Limbert, an dance teacher I had at the gym on whom I still have a major crush on. He's also probably gay, but who cares.

Oh, yeah.

Last night while channel surfing before drooling myself asleep, I came across this movie. It was really, really awful, but I'm glad I caught the best scene of the whole thing: Vincen D'Onofio and Thomas Jane making out in the most outrageous, decadent, hot fashion. The tongues were mesmerizing, I'm telling you. And at first I thought D'Onofrio was really Hawksley Workman, which made the whole scene ten times more exciting. Turns out it wasn't Hawksley, but now I get the whole D'Onofio sex appeal. Go figure.

Okay, back to work.

Happy New Year!

It's January 2, and 2004 already had its share of moments to forget. For example, on new year's eve, my parents decided to feel miserable and have a fight at exactly 11:50pm. That's right. What better way to welcome the new year than having your parents discussing in their room while you pop the champagne feeling annoyed by them and wishing you were somewhere/someone else? How lovely.

Anyway, that didn't stop me from my ethilic tradition, and after my gradmother decided to call it a day, I finished the first bottle and took the second one to my room with my TV for company. I got to see the ball dropping in Times Square and cheer with the people in NYC and some other places in the world. I especially liked what they did in Sydney and London. At the end, I settled for an old movie and fell asleep around 3 or 4am.

My parents were leaving for a small trip to the beach the next day with my stepbrother and his wife, and thankfully they did so. I really didn't want to hang out around them after the fiasco of the night before, and I felt (and still am) really hostile towards them, since they seem to have the WORST timing for fighting. They have a knack for fucking things up at the worst time possible (i.e. birthdays, family reunions and any special moment for anybody else but them). They seem to like having an audience. Whatever. I'm so fed up with them. Thank God I don't have to see them until Sunday.

But not everything has been bad! I did get a long-distance midnight kiss for good luck, I finally went to see Disney's Brother Bear and I ate pizza (yay!). An improvement after a boring January 1st, let me tell you. My grandmother it's quite a good companion on these lazy days, despite the fact she makes me play weird card games. In exchange for her lessons, I introduced her today to the goodness that is the Lord of The Rings movie trilogy. She liked!

Tomorrow I'm going out with the girlfriends to bid a fond farewell with lots of tequila to our friend Nohelia, who's heading to the US of A for an intensive English course, she says. I think she wants to go get some gringo booty, but don't tell her I said that. :P

All in all, I hope it's a good weekend, since it's the last before we officially get to work again on Jan. 5.

Work. Ugh.
