Wherein I gasp, dance, sigh, daydream, fall, lust and love...

...or randomly recap happenings from the last few days.

- Saw Hedwig and The Angry Inch last night. This movie shook the bases of my existence in so many levels I'm still speechless. It was Velvet Goldmine all over again.

- Irma's bachelorette party on Saturday? It kicked ass! I got home at 6am after an all-salsa dance night. At the end, turns out we didn't need strippers to have fun -- all we needed was a little booze, some guys to dance with and a healthy dose of Latin music. We started the night on this bar called Latino's, where the music's good, but the men are lacking. And even though around 1am things stared to get better, I was feeling sleepy and we had already decided to move our sexy selves someplace else.

Olga suggested a place near the city's downtown called Rumba Ché or something to that effect, and wow. We really danced the night away there. There's something really beautiful about a place that people go to just to dance. It doesn't matter if you're ugly, fat or if you have buck teeth: if you can dance salsa, you are immediately swept by the music. I danced with about 5 or 6 different people there, from the cute young guy to the sweet old man. They were all charming and chivalrous, and a pleasure to dance with. I really hope to go there soon and get more in touch with my undeniable roots. I say undeniable because you can't help feel Latin when the music starts and the rhythm starts to pump inside your veins. I got home at 6am the next day and not even tired. What a fantastic night.

- I found out I really like R.E.M. Or at least the songs that are on their "best of" compilation. Same thing with the Smashing Pumpkins. I kinda liked them before, but now it's something more strong and deep and liric and fangirly cute. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness it's such a beautiful record. I've also been listening some old NIN stuff, and it's amazing how much Trent Reznor is my platonic boyfriend. He's so gorgeous and tormented and dark and brooding. I'm such a goth.

- One of my friends got unexpectedly married and told us so on a lunch we had on Saturday. I almost fell flat on my ass. Is it me, or is everybody getting married these? Did I miss the bandwagon? I feel like a freak for not having a relationship.

- Dear Santa, I want the Fab 5 for Xmas. Yes, I know it's pathetic to lust after five gay men, but they're my porn puppies, and deep down I'm a gay man anyway. Please, Santa, let me have that so I can drool over them in my office.

- Lee, if you're reading this, I love you. :)
