Here comes the bride

Irma's wedding last Saturday was really nice. Among the unexpected things to happen there was me in the pulpit, reading a lecture from the Bible (the altar boy came to me and asked nicely. I thought I would get a naughty kick out of it. Also, I love Irma, so I said, what the hell?). At one moment there I saw Olga's eyes pop out of their sockets in utter disbelief. She said she was afraid the church would start to crumble, the baptism water turn into blood and that the apocalypse horsemen would enter on cue. I admit I felt quite evil and pleased up there. ;)

The bride, the groom, the bridesmaid (my pretty Olga!) and the best man (especially him, yum!) looked quite smashing. Our table was composed by not only the most sexy women, but also a couple of Irma's exes that made the night quite memorable, I might add, when it was time for the picture. Hehee. A while later, Bacchus called us in order to make those people at the party dance, dammit, dance, because it seemed they all had a stick up their bums. All in all, the reception was okay, with a bunch of old friends from college and the media (it was packed with journalists! Sometimes I forget I'm one). Unforgettable moments when the Bride threw the bouquet and a senior bachelorette caught it and then a very brave guy caught the garter, only to put it on this lady's thigh with his teeth. It was like a train wreck: horrible, but you couldn't take your eyes off it. ;)

The party ended up too early (1am? WTF?), so the entourage decided to move it to El Maní Es Así, a legendary place devoted to Salsa music. Much dancing was done until 4am, when our feet claimed they had had way too much balance over stiletto heels and they wanted out. Yesterday was a day of sleep and pistachio. movies and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy introduction to my mother, who, judging by her reaction, has become a fag-hag. ;)
