Wiggle your big toe

I saw Kill Bill yesterday afternoon, and while I wasn't going in with that many expectations, I'm happy to say the movie kicked my ass. It was THAT good. It's rare to see really solid female performances in an action movie, and with this one you get a treat: Uma Thurman, Vivica Fox, Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah are superb. I especially liked Chiaki Kuriyama (who plays Go Go Yubari), because she was so absolutely dead on it was scary.

The action sequences were amazing, gory and full of witty repartee, and the use of anime as a tool for background storytelling was fantastic. I might be biased because I love Tarantino, but he didn't disappoint me. I'm really looking forward to the second part with my campy hat on.

However, it wouldn't have been the same movie without the soundtrack, with wich I'm developing a very unhealthy obsession with. It has the right combination of ethereal japanese music and cowboy bravado. It's just... perfect for the movie, and you get to relive the best moments while listening to it.

All in all, a great movie. If I just hadn't seen LXG after that, my night would've been complete.
